This 1 day (8 hrs .8CEU) Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) /Sea Survival (non STCW) course is designed for both the swimmer and non swimmer to practice or learn aquatic emergency response skills and maximize the chances of surviving an emergency at sea during travel over/on the water.The course includes both classroom lecture and in-water hands on training, Instructional topics include: Philosophy of Survival. Crisis Management & Role of a Leader. Helicopter Safety Awareness. Helicopter Emergency (Ditching) Procedures. Underwater Egress Techniques. Aquatic Medial Management. USCG Lifesaving Equipment used during an abandonment ( Enclosed Boats, Inflatable Liferafts, PFD, Immersion Suits, Emergency Distress Flares)-Cold Water Survival -In-Water Survival Skills ( Marine Life Encounters, Oil, Fire , Debris) -Search and Rescue Procedures.Trainees are requested to bring a bathing suit/towel, clean set of work cloth for in-water training and a positive attitude. Course includes lunch.
